KOLKATA: In the last article of the series, we understood the importance of overcoming self-limiting beliefs inculcated since childhood. Today, we will see how to inculcate ‘I can do it’ beliefs. We will see the power of inculcating empowering beliefs by seeing examples of some renowned personalities who overcame the initial rejections in their lives and succeeded in a big way.

INCULCATE THE EMPOWERING BELIEF – ‘I CAN DO IT’

The good news is that the desired empowering beliefs can be learnt & practised to enrich our lives. Even now, if we become aware of our self-limiting beliefs, we can replace them by acquiring new empowering beliefs, which will take us on the journey towards achieving our goals. Ask yourself, whether you would like to have better results in your life than present. If the answer is yes, you need to work upon your internal belief system. As your beliefs guide your behaviour & actions and your behaviour & actions bring you the results in life; you have to change your beliefs, if you want to change the results, which you are getting in life at present.

I suggest you to prepare a written list of good things, you have done since childhood. Once you finish your list, you will find that you have succeeded many times in life and it will make it easier for you to inculcate ‘I can do it’ types of empowering beliefs, flushing out ‘I can’t do it’ beliefs out of your sub-conscious mind.

SUCCESS STORIES AFTER INITIAL REJECTION

Now let us see the power of inculcating empowering beliefs by seeing examples of some renowned personalities, who overcame the initial rejections in their lives and succeeded in a big way.

During his initial days of struggle, our beloved Amitabh Bachchan, the ‘Star of the Millennium’, was rejected in an audition by a radio channel on the ground of bad voice tonality. The magic of same voice ruled the minds of Indians for about half century and the people across the globe loved his voice. Many films, of which he was not a part as an ‘actor’, carried his magical voice to narrate the background story at the beginning of the film. Balika Vadhu, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Lagaan, Parineeta, Jodha Akbar, Kahaani, Krissh3 are some such films, just to name a few. Had he been dejected at his initial rejection, he could not have succeeded in his career.

Now hold your breath to know that Albert Einstein was ousted from the school in his early childhood. The school administration told his parents that he was not fit to be educated. It is another story that his parents were not convinced with this theory and arranged for his education separately.Thomas Alva Edison was also ousted from school with the remarks that it would be wastage of time to teach something to him. We all know that these two great inventors left their mark on the course of twentieth century by contributing a lot to the world of inventions & discoveries and are treated as most genius personalities, this earth has ever witnessed.

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was an early dropout from the school, though later he went on to leave ever lasting imprint on music & literature world and went on to achieve the prestigious Nobel Prize for Literature.

Walt Disney faced bankruptcy seven times and even experienced a nervous breakdown before his dream venture, ‘Disneyland’ could turn into reality.

Australia’s Media tycoon, Kerry Packer was termed as family idiot by his family and was once considered as an academic failure, but due to his vision and following a strategic plan to achieve the same, he rose to become one of the wealthiest men in Australia.

Jack Ma of Alibaba tells his story of his initial rejections before he succeeded in a big way. Had he been selected by KFC, imagine, the earth would have never witnessed power of Alibaba.

Hundreds of books can be written with such success stories about the persons who excelled in the field, in which they were initially rejected as incapable.

So what is the ‘mantra’ at such difficult times.

At the time when you do not see enough of success or face failure or rejection at initial stages of your endeavor, you have to continue having faith in your capabilities. You have to constantly fill your sub-conscious mind with the empowering belief that you are born to succeed and the Almighty God, who has sent you on this earth, is always with you. Just like you are always behind your children, whether they do right or sometimes do wrong, God is always behind you, no matter what you do. Stop reading further and say three times. “The Universal Father Almighty God, who has sent me on this earth, is always with me.”

Feel the energy and you will find that you want to repeat it more. If yes, keep on repeating mentally. Enjoy.

(In the upcoming article of this series, we will know how at every level of your thought process & actions, you can move from negatives to positives i.e. from limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs. So, stay tuned every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. Happy G.O.P.T.A.)
